Britons 'dreaming of company formations'
19/July/2010
More than half of all Britons are frustrated entrepreneurs, a new study has indicated.
According to research conducted by e-commerce firm PayPoint.net, just over 50 per cent of the UK's office workers have considered starting their own business.
However, fears over start-up costs and
company administration demands have led many to dampen their ambitions, the firm said.
Some 62 per cent of respondents said they would start their own business if the task was easier ? potentially highlighting the benefits of
business support services.
A third of interviewees said they would like to run an internet-based company, with a high street retail store desired by seven per cent.
Michael Norton, managing director of PayPoint.net, said that given the tough economic climate of the past two years, it is "fantastic" to see such a strong sense of entrepreneurialism in the UK.
