Brembo S.p.A. was founded in 1961 by Emilio Bombassei, the father of the current president of the company. From humble beginnings as a small mechanics garage located a few kilometres from Bergamo in Italy, it has gone on to become the market leader in braking systems.
Due to the growth in the number of people having access to a car, the company now operates in 12 countries and has over 4,300 people working for it. In 2005 the Group's turnover was ?711.6 million. Today, Brembo boasts the likes of Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes, Lancia, BMW, Nissan, Iveco, Renault and Chrysler as customers. It also provides braking systems for hundreds of racing teams, many of whom have won car and motorcycle world championships.
Brembo S.p.A, the parent company in the group, is listed on the Italian Stock Exchange. In the UK, Brembo S.p.A. operates through Brembo UK Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary which distributes brakes to the after-market, specialising in supplying brake components to automotive motor factors and wholesalers, who in turn supply garages.
Since the late 1990s, Jordans has been assisting Brembo's UK sales and distribution operations based in Kidderminster. The relationship began with Jordans providing ad-hoc outsourced support to Brembo's accounting division. The level of services has since grown, with Jordans now providing a wide variety of corporate services covering both statutory and management functions. Our services to Brembo include:
- financial reporting;
- maintaining comprehensive and accurate records for the annual audit inspection;
- managing the payroll and making VAT returns;
- credit control;
- dealing with customer account queries;
- stock reporting and reconciliation;
- company administration and secretarial duties; and
- registered office address and mail forwarding service.
The Jordans team meets with Brembo representatives on a quarterly basis to discuss progress and to ensure that the service continues to meet Brembo's requirements.
Richard Moksa, the Sales and Operations Manager for Brembo UK says of the relationship: ?Jordans were instrumental initially in assisting our company start up in the UK and, as business has developed, have met with all necessary requirements both from the UK sales operation and the links with Brembo in Italy. The ongoing relationship we have, almost on a daily basis, is very close and we can rely on Jordans' assistance for all our needs, sometimes at very short notice. Additionally, our UK customers believe they are dealing with the Brembo UK accounts department and not an outsourced service company, which is true testimony to the way Jordans works closely with Brembo UK.?
Liz Needham, Jordans' Relationship Manager for Brembo said: ?We are proud to be involved with a company like Brembo. Here at Jordans we like to ensure that we add value to the organisations we support, and through regular contact and feedback sessions we can ensure that our clients receive only the best support from us?.
