Manchester Business Startups
Once a powerhouse of the textile industry, immortalised on canvas by L S Lowry and home to one of the world's best known football clubs, Manchester is a major city in the UK. Rocked by post-war de-industrialisation and the 1996 bombing, the city went on to host the XVII Commonwealth Games in 2002. In November 2014, the city-region led the way for the country's devolution agenda and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority is committed to helping new and growing businesses.
And it seems many of these businesses are taking the next step in their journey and setting up limited companies. This is reflected in consistently strong performance in relation to new company formation statistics* compared to areas in the rest of the country, beside London and Birmingham.
